I investigate how the struggles and conflicts for land and demarcation of territory are linked with gender configurations. I follow the case of the formation of a female handicraft association whose members are striving to enter in the local political arena in order to defend their land where they sell handicrafts. I also follow the case of the project to construct an international airport in the area that is worsening and creating even more conflicts for land, even among the members of the handicraft association.
